Privacy Policy
Spine is a Chrome extension for managing bookmarks and tabs with local indexing, semantic search, and optional AI-assisted organization.
Data Spine Uses
Spine may use the following data to provide its bookmark and tab management features:
- Bookmark URLs, titles, folders, and related bookmark metadata.
- Active tab context when you open Spine workflows for the page you are currently viewing.
- Public page metadata for bookmarked URLs when metadata enrichment is enabled.
- Local extension settings, preferences, logs, index state, and usage counters.
- AI endpoint settings and API keys that you choose to configure.
How Data Is Stored
Spine stores its local bookmark index, settings, logs, preferences, and AI configuration in your browser using Chrome extension storage and local browser storage. Your AI API key is stored locally in chrome.storage.local and is not synced through Chrome by Spine.
Optional AI Requests
Spine supports bring-your-own-key AI configuration. If you configure an AI endpoint and run an AI-assisted feature, Spine sends the content needed for that feature to the endpoint you configured. Spine does not provide a default paid AI service in this release.
Data Sharing
Spine does not sell user data. Spine does not transfer user data to third parties except as necessary to provide features you explicitly configure, such as sending an AI request to your selected AI endpoint.
Spine does not use user data for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated purposes.
Remote Code
Spine does not load or execute remote JavaScript or remote WebAssembly. Executable JavaScript and WebAssembly used by Spine are bundled in the submitted extension package.
Data Control
You can remove Spine's local data by uninstalling the extension from Chrome. You can also remove configured AI endpoint settings and API keys from the extension settings when available.
